Project Brief

Chemsys was the EPC Contractor for finepac to fabricate and install a shell and tube heat exchanger for the application of air cooled operation which is to be installed in USA. It was necessary that the Heat Exchanger fabricated was according to U-STAMP Specifications .

Our Specialization in ASPEN suite helped us simulate the phenomenon in computer and visualize problems regarding the Process and Troubleshoot to create a cost effective Heat Exchanger.

Construction and Commissioning

The fabrication process included plasma cutting, shearing, plate rolling, oxy-acetylene cutting, drilling, and reaming. The product was pickled and passivated, then packaged with carbon steel blind flanges installed.

Made of SS304 stainless steel measuring 10 mm thick, the finished product was 3.23 m long, had a diameter of 813 mm.

Following fabrication, we put the horizontal heat exchanger through hydro testing at 7 kg/cm2 and other tests such as radiography etc. followed by ASME inspector inspection and approval ensuring flawless design and manufacturing. We then shipped the product to our client in California, USA.

Construction of this project was done in our in house fabrication facility which was according to U-STAMP Specifications which is strict in US. We carried out the commissioning of this project with our experienced professionals to conduct various tests which would ensure the efficiency of deisgned Heat Exchanger.
